Knowing how much damage you can sustain is where your damage control will come in.

See, as long as you don't continue to take sustain fire (THIS IS IMPORTANT), just healing alone will allow you to survive. A lot of times I will let 2 fires burn if I'm using a tank build, providing you kill the source of the fire spamming or get to a position out of harms way, you'll heal a good chunk of that back. Tank build with flags, 1 fire only does 11007 damage if left to burn. With an India Delta flag(+20% heal) that is 635/per second for 28 seconds, that is 17780hp. Your repair party will heal 529/per second for 28 seconds, that is 14812hp. With this build, 1 fire will do 16187 damage if left to burn, with an India Yankee flag (-20% fire duration) equipped, 1 fire does 12950 damage. Being on fire is part of battleship life, learn to not be scared of the fire. Know when to Damage control instead of repair or just repair party instead of hitting the damage control button, or keep distance/leave an area. Being able to balance the use of those three things is what makes good BB commanders.
